Damar is the kurung in its most restrained register — solid taupe silk satin, traced with gold-thread sulam at the neckline, cuffs and hip band. The motifs borrow their geometry from songket weaving, translated from loom to needle.
It is a piece for daylight ceremonies and quiet evenings, cut with the long, uninterrupted line that runs through all of our work.
